EMILY'S BIRTHDAY (Part 1)

 

Emily's 3rd Birthday!

Although Emily had a number of stuffed toys, she did not have an official "Teddy Bear".   Grandpa and Nana met her at "Build-A-Bear" for the big day!

Stacia and Keith brought Emmy to meet us at the "adoption agency" in the University Mall.

There were lots of pre-stuffed samples to choose from


 

These were her finalists!


 

The Pink Bear Won And Gets A New Home!

The animals are unstuffed so she could pick-out a sound maker ("I Love You") and a heart to be inserted prior to stuffing.

Then the lady stitched her up!

Next stop was the air shower and Emmy washed her new friend



Now we all know that a girl must accessorize!

 

what to choose?

Once everything is picked out it's on to the changing table with some help from Nana.

Next stop was filling out the adoption forms and giving her new bear a name.

MEET PINKIE!

Complete with dress, frilly white panties, shoes, shades and purse.



First stop was the mall playground so Emmily could teach Pinkie how to go down the slide!

Finally at her new home, Pinkie dons her jammies for a well deserved nap!

 After nap time Stacia found Pinkie "naked" on the potty!

Keith's Birthday!

Keith's 30th Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

Keith, Stacia and Emily drove down for a visit for his birthday!

This is what he awoke to on August 31st

And papa made everyone a big breakfast of his special pancakes, grilled ham slice and fresh fruit.  Then we all went to the library where nana works.

Time for a "daddy - daughter ride!

 When Keith served his mission in Las Vegas he had a memorable sub at a place called Capriotti's.  Since there were no Capriotti's in Utah, he had not had one in nearly 10 years but he remembered it!   A few days before they visited us in St. George, Capriotti's opened a store here!

This is the sub he remembered!

After feasting of really good subs we headed home for "nap time".

After a nap it was time for a swim!

Emily and Keith enjoy daddy/daughter time!

That evening,  we all went to the Texas Road House for a Texas size dinner!

Keith and Emily also got to share time together at our playground!

Although the chart is off because some of the sand has been dug away, it's plain to see that Keith is not our "little boy" any more!

 

My how things have changed!

On Saturday, Jeff and Kendra's home was set-up for the luncheon afterwards!

 Both inside and outside!

All Set!  The guests "dig-in"!

 John & Katie made something special for Lindsay's blessing.....

John cut and scooped out a watermelon, peeled and shaped a cantaloupe, and turned a honeydew into melon balls.......

....while Katie converted the watermelon "innards" into melon balls.  Note the peeled cantaloupe by her left arm.  This is awaiting Katie's magic touch!

Katie added the face and I secured it into the melon on Saturday. 

 By Saturday night we had added pineapple, red & green grapes, strawberries and blueberries to the melon balls (watermelon, honeydew & cantaloupe).  We had 4- 1 gallon bags of fruit in the refrigerator!

On Sunday I added the wheels & hubcaps then filled it with the fruit mixture.
