As I mentioned in April, the Python population in the Everglades has been estimated in the 10's of thousands. They are competing with the alligator as to who is the top of the food chain!

When the population is too large for an area to support, the critters migrate to new territory. Since they were on the southern tip of a peninsula, there is only one way to go and that direction is partially blocked by a huge lake. The Everglades are south and west of us. Okeechobee County is in our Stake and located N.W. of us near the N.E. corner of Lake Okeechobee. This was captured there this week!!!

Yep! A little over 17 feet long, 26" in diameter, 207 pounds PYTHON.

An 11 year old spotted it and ran to get his uncle who shot it in the head.
The Iguana population is also in the thousands but we've found a way to control them!
